After turning her back on the Nortons and a record deal, Billie is desperate to connect with her real family. So Gus takes her to visit her mother's sister, where she makes a discovery that upends her life once again.
Devastated to learn she's cost the Norton Hotel a very important guest, Billie does everything she can to woo the man back while also dealing with a bizarre meeting at her record label.
Billie is finally having some good luck in the city: she has her own apartment, a role with the hotel, and a recording contract. But when Billie and Layla are asked to return to Walperinga and perform as part of their old band, will the impromptu trip throw her hard-won success off-balance?
Billie is thrilled when offered the chance to collaborate with a famous music producer, but her lack of romantic experience hinders her ability to write the love song. When Gus is rushed to the hospital, Billie realizes she must be true to her own voice.
With Gus facing life-threatening surgery, Billie puts her music career on hold. But that incites a dilemma-she promised Marc she would perform at his launch party, and she is torn over what to do. Further complicating matters, she learns of a dodgy business deal that threatens the hotel.
As Gus's life hangs in the balance, Billie turns to Marc for emotional support. Is he just being a good friend, or has he become more than that? Meanwhile, the Nortons are confronting the possible downfall of their business empire.
