Bruno Rezende meets the people, places and stories shaping volleyball at the highest level. Volleyball has taken Bruno around the world. Now, he takes viewers behind the scenes of the Volleyball Nations League, beyond the tournaments, beyond the matches, and into the conversations that most fans never get to see. In each episode, Bruno sits down with some of the biggest names in volleyball to talk about life on tour, elite competition, personal journeys, different cultures, and the connections that bring players, teams and fans closer together. Different countries, different stories, one shared game.
Three-time Champions League winner Zehra Güneş has become one of volleyball’s biggest stars. Yet unlike most elite athletes, she has worn the same jersey since she was twelve, built her career in one city, stayed close to family, and became a champion without ever leaving home. In Istanbul, Bruno explores identity, discipline and the quiet life of an athlete whose story runs in the opposite direction to everyone else's.
Earvin Ngapeth is a constant rotation: a showman on court, a rapper off it, French and Cameroonian, named after Magic Johnson and a two-time Olympic champion. In Paris, Bruno joins him for a day through the city and out onto the Seine, tracing a story of two heritages and a career that turned volleyball into spectacle. This is the artist at home, the athlete who refused the border between court and culture, seen through the place that made him. Featuring rapper, S. PRi NOiR.
Two Americans, one island, a lifetime of volleyball. Micah Christenson and Erik Shoji grew up together in Hawaii and rose to become the heart of the US team: a setter and a libero whose games complete each other. In Orléans, Bruno explores their friendship, their shared roots and what it means to build a career far from home.
A legendary setter, a modern great, the shared love of the game and mutual admiration. Bruno Rezende sits down with Alessandro Michieletto in Italy, where he's built his career in his home country. Bruno explores Alessandro's passion for volleyball, his path through the Italian league and his rise to become one of the sport's top players, amongst others.
Bruno Rezende and Gabi Guimarães know the weight of leading Brazil. Thiaguinho knows the pressure of leading from a different stage. In São Paulo, the three come together over barbecue and music to trace the choices, sacrifices and responsibilities behind careers lived in public. This is a conversation about leadership, performance and national pride across sport and music, and what it takes to keep showing up when others are counting on you. Featuring Thiaguinho.
