The only docuseries on Stanley Kubrick.
Stanleyandus - a Kubrick odyssey
STANLEYANDUS is a docuseries on Stanley Kubrick, featuring original sequences shot between 1997 and 2001. It includes about 50 re-edited interviews with collaborators, actors, critics, friends, and family members. The result is a unique encyclopaedic 'catalogue'. This unprecedented concept helps unravel the mystery surrounding Kubrick’s filmmaking experience as one of the most popular and critically acclaimed directors.
Episodes
The Pinocchio Project is the story of an unrealised project, a dream, that Stanley Kubrick worked on for more than twenty years. The story of a robot child who wants to become human and be loved. The writers who collaborated on this dream describe their long and sometimes frustrating collaboration with the great director, helping us to discover Kubrick's thoughts on artificial intelligence and humanity as a whole, and understand why this 20-years dream remained unfulfilled.
The adjective that inevitably follows Stanley Kubrick is 'perfectionist'. For those who admire his films, perfectionism is entwined to his art, but for those who worked with him and experienced it, it is something quite different.
Kubrick preferred to collaborate with writers who were not professional screenwriters, with whom, over the course of long chats, he would work out scripts. These were never final and would be reworked with the actors during filming and even into the editing room.
