Episodes
Why did Special Security Operations Coordinator Cor Ardon receive a letter from US President Barack Obama and what did it say? What does a canopy do in the attic of the Ridderzaal and what was the secret of Herman Tjeenk Willink in the formation of the first purple cabinet? Splinter Chabot shows how the renovation of the Binnenhof is progressing and how it is built on the turbulent foundations of the past.
The stadholder portraits have been removed from the Trêveszaal, resulting in a unique discovery: original sketches by designer and architect Daniël Marot have been discovered on the wall. New concrete has also been poured at the Ministry of Justice, and the facades have been renovated. During the work, it was discovered that 60 percent of the wooden beams are rotten. This means the renovation will take longer and be significantly more expensive. Former Labour Party leader Diederik Samsom and political reporter Ferry Mingelen reminisce with Splinter about their time at the Binnenhof. Head of Facilities Services, Gep Nagtzaam, shares a memoir about an incident that occurred.
