Amybeth McNulty

Amybeth McNulty (born 7 November 2001) is an Irish-Canadian actress best known for her portrayal of Anne Shirley-Cuthbert in the television drama series Anne with an E (2017-2019) and Vickie in the science fiction series Stranger Things (2022-2025). Born in Letterkenny, County Donegal, Ireland, to an Irish father and a Canadian mother, McNulty grew up in County Donegal. She was homeschooled and developed an early interest in acting, training in theater and ballet at An Grianán Theatre’s youth program. She began her screen career with appearances in television productions including Agatha Raisin (2014), Clean Break (2015), and The Sparticle Mystery (2015). She also portrayed the younger version of the title character in the science fiction thriller Morgan (2016). McNulty achieved international recognition when she was cast as Anne Shirley-Cuthbert in Anne with an E, an adaptation of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s novel Anne of Green Gables. She starred alongside Geraldine James and R. H. Thomson throughout the show’s three seasons. Her performance earned her a Canadian Screen Award for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series and an ACTRA Award for Outstanding Female Performance. Her subsequent film credits include Black Medicine (2021), All My Puny Sorrows (2021), She Came Back (2024), and Ballistic (2025). She also joined the cast of Stranger Things as Vickie, appearing in the fourth and fifth seasons of the series.
